A Thought from My Last Book

As I write my next book, there is a poem from my THIRD BOOK (click here) that keeps popping into my head.  It goes like this:

AM I TOO MUCH?

I'm sorry for the inadequacies with which you've been stricken.  I'm not, however, sorry for being your fantasy.

It's not my fault. In a vault I do not belong.

I inspire, while you perspire.

Trying to keep track of my every move. Yet, I only wanna schmooze with you, Boo! Believe it or not, it's the truth.

And maybe you DON'T deserve me, the epitome of what makes you happy.

Apparently not, because you reject me. Every chance you get, you reject me. Which is oxymoronic, Mr. Romantic; the one who campaigned so hard for me, the epitome of what makes you happy.

So, how come now... Now, that I'm here, you're not? The hot, gorgeous, timid, intelligent, practical, ambitious, multi-talented passionate & compassionate...

Woops! I'm sorry! Yes, I AM opinionated and demanding, at times... but that's part of my passion, which synergizes my actions.  

As a lady, I consistently keep my word, despite what you've heard about my "kind." The "kind" you've been warned not to marry. Because every Tom, Dick, and Larry wants to carry me... Away from you.

It's true! I really am the epitome of what makes you happy.

Totally, tremendously, truthfully, temptuously. Today. Tonight. Tomorrow.

Damsel in Distress: Not the Way to Empower Our Girls

Apparently, I need to feed my Twitter (@DomCulpepper) posts onto this page, my beloved blog :)  Yeah, that's it! That's my new assignment. Besides, time is of the essence, and we must work smarter not harder!

In Case You're Wondering: Glad I Served!

Hello Everyone and thanks again for stopping by to see me!  I just wanted to share a quick point with you.  If you're wondering why you served in our United States Military or if you should serve, let me be the first to say, "DO IT!"  I won't kid you, it will be tough and you will endure situations that you never thought you could handle.  But the reward is worth it!

Not only will you receive dynamic training that sets you a cut above your civilian peers, but you'll feel a sense of pride, once you're done.  Personally, my time in service has made me eligible for benefits that have made an overwhelming difference in my life.  As a result, I received the best prenatal healthcare, which facilitated the full-term birth of my beloved son.

It's just he and I now, but organizations like the American Legion, have helped tremendously with our transition.  I urge you to become a member. Get involved! Besides, you never know when or if you may need assistance.

We Survived!

Considering that a woman dies every ten minutes, due to pregnancy-related complications, I am grateful to God for my only child.  It was a long, lonesome road, especially considering that no one could believe the extent of our complications... Well, we survived, and we've made great strides in our progress.

Watch out, ladies! Bupivicaine, otherwise known as Marcaine, is a medication commonly used to help ease the pain of childbirth. Well, you might want to call around and possibly make a reservation because according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) there's a shortage on bupivicaine. My advice? Talk to your healthcare provider about alternatives, quick! Either way, you'll be so overwhelmed with joy, once your little one arrives. TRUST ME ;-)  God Bless and take good care!

FORWARD MOVEMENT!

I am back!  Stronger than before, and boy (some days more so than others)!  I'm amazed at the distance folk have gone just to get me under their control!  Maybe I really am awesome, huh? NEWSFLASH: I'll get thru this and keep moving forward.

In other news, I'm a new mom, so naturally I will be writing about children's health and insurance coverage.  Who knows, maybe even a sneak peak at my bundle of joy :)

Meanwhile, medication errors are still on the rise, and I need to develop a medical billing and coding tool to help identify and hopefully prevent medication errors in the future; if I can help at least one facility, that will make my day!  I haven't presented in a while, so this will be interesting ;-)

Back to the pharmacy I go? Or will it be the medical records department? Or a doctor's office? Or the classroom?

CHICKEN!

Are you CHICKEN?!  Well, even the best of the best will experience a snag, from time to time.  This is true, even for Purina, a well-known and reputable supplier of pet food.  Unfortunately, over a dozen lots of poultry feed have been recalled in the Orgeon and Washington areas, according to a Press Release from the Food & Drug Administration on April 16, 2014. 

The reason cited for the recall is inadequate levels of vitamins and trace minerals, which may be responsible for health problems, including death in poultry. 

Well, I guess I better shop for more beef!

Parenting: What's the matter?

The handbook on how to raise a child.  If there ever was such a thing... Yet, we all know that girls and boys are generally taught different gender roles.

In my book "Tell-tale signs of a train wreck," I expound on some of these roles, and the consequences of failure to fulfill them.

My focus has since shifted to the upbringing of my own child.  My goal is to teach him the importance of developing and maintaining strong family ties, while encouraging his individuality, independence, and perseverance; attributes that I possess myself, which makes it easier for me to lead by example.

One day, he will meet a young lady and fall in love.  I want him to be equipped with the self-esteem and other tools necessary to nurture and provide for his own family, so as to ensure his manly competence; that's my job, as a parent.  It's a matter of fact, a matter of life, and a matter maturation.
